About the Bangladesh Income Tax Calculator
How to use it
1. Enter your monthly basic salary (switch to /yr if you know the annual figure). 2. Add your annual bonus and any other income, then choose your taxpayer category. 3. Optionally expand the Section 78 panel to enter investments such as DPS or life insurance. 4. Read the result: annual tax, monthly TDS, and a full slab-by-slab breakdown.
Which rules does it use?
This calculator follows the Income Tax Act 2023 as amended by the Finance Act 2026 for FY 2026–27 (AY 2027–28): tax-free threshold of ৳4,00,000 (more for women, seniors, and other categories), slabs of 10%–30%, and the 1/3 salary exemption capped at ৳5,00,000.
Investment rebate (Section 78)
The Finance Act 2026 reduced the investment tax credit rate from 15% to 10% of eligible investment and the absolute cap from ৳10 lakh to ৳7.5 lakh. Eligible investments include DPS (up to ৳1,20,000/year), life insurance premiums, shares and mutual funds, savings certificates, and provident fund contributions. The rebate is the lowest of: 10% of eligible investment, 3% of your income after exemptions, or ৳7,50,000.
Tips for using it
Enter your monthly basic salary, any annual bonus, and other income. Tick “first-time filer” if you are filing for the first time — the minimum tax drops to ৳1,000. The breakdown shows exactly how the slabs, exemption, and rebate produce your monthly TDS.
